Do you remember the United States Capitol shooting incident (1954)‬ The United States Capitol shooting incident of 1954 was an attack on March 1, 1954 by four Puerto Rican nationalists; they shot 30 rounds from semi-automatic pistols from the Ladies' Gallery (a balcony for visitors) of the House of Representatives chamber in the United States Capitol. They wanted to highlight the struggle for independence from US rule. The Nationalists: Lolita Lebrón, Rafael Cancel Miranda, Andres Figueroa Cordero, and Irving Flores Rodríguez, unfurled a Puerto Rican flag and began shooting at the 240 Representatives of the 83rd Congress, who were debating an immigration bill. Five Representatives were wounded, one seriously, but all recovered. The Nationalists were arrested, tried and convicted in federal court, and given long sentences, effectively life imprisonment. In 1978 and 1979, they were pardoned by President Jimmy Carter; all four returned to Puerto Rico. It has been discussed that the Puerto Ricans involved are to be given the Nobel Peace Prize posthumously. The thought is that that the those elected to serve the people are doing everything but serving the people. They are self-seeking, arrogant and corrupt. 90% of the voters favor giving the award, probably as a message to the politicians that our elected representatives better are start paying attention to the voters and do what they promised to do when they asked the people for their votes.

Republicans Vs. Democrats

I am an old bastard waiting for my time to pass on; but before my time comes, I have one request: will you politicians quit passing legislation that favors only the 1%'s and have the 99%'s pay for it. My god; we 99%s supply 99% of the troops you deploy for your contrived wars; we bail out the Wall Street gamblers, we allow the corporations to earn billions of dollars without paying taxes; we allow the CEOs of these corporations to pay themselves and their buddies on the Board of Directors millions in salaries and unearned bonuses, we allow the politicians to buy and sell stocks on insider information for which the 99%s would be sent to prison; we allow the credit card companies and banks to destroy our futures because we lost our jobs due to the financial crises caused by Wall Street and enabled by the politicians. The SEC and the FRB help perpetuate the legalized crime on Wall Street.

Both parties leaders swear that they will implement change, but Obama and Bush are like 2 peas in the pod. They appointed Wall Street greed barons to run the country while they travel about the Country and World blame their predecessors. Clinton was so beloved by the Democrats, but he contributed mightily to the inequality that exists today. Obama, is a great Orator, but a lousy leader. Bush could never get the silver spoon out of his mouth.

Americans spend more time eating than reading. Wonder why health care is so expensive; our fat population would rather eat then become actively interested how we might band together and get rid of the politicians and the black cloaked jurists who dance to the strings being pulled by the 1%s. You all treat diabetes as something that can be treated with a pill and you can carry on stuffing yourselves with bread,cake,cookies and processed foods. You better vote for Obama care, because treatment for diabetes is not cheap. It is reversible for the most part if you want to heal yourselves.

I think the 1%'s have made one big fatal mistake, they enabled the 99%'s to keep their guns. Soon, the cops and the soldiers, sailors are going to wise up and discover they are getting cheated like the rest of us and will not want to protect the well being of the 1%s who continually divert monies from the 99%s to themselves.

I don't own a gun, and I do not intend to buy one; I want to see people get off their fat asses, get mad and march on DC and let the politicians know when enough is enough. That also means girls must quit having babies out of wedlock, to put it nicely, and start using contraceptives, even if the Pope objects or Santorumimini, the grand ayotoloa of the republican party. Boys who play must pay. I am tired of paying for your illegitimate kids.

The sluggos on disibility need to get to work; unless you can't physically get off your fat asses.

Corporations need to force the politicians to enact fair trade laws so that China, India, Japan and Korea cannot flood our country with goods and services but prohibit our companies from selling in their countries.

Corporations on the other hand,must also respect their workers and the people who live in the cities where you have businesses; quit polluting the water supply, the air and ground and poisoning us you greedy bastards.

You religious zealots need to start paying property taxes, why should those who do not believe your BS have to pay higher property taxes. You build these huge glamorous buildings and expect us to believe you follow Jesus Christ's teachings.
I haven't heard one self-appointed savior who tries to measure up to Jesus Christ.

The dumbest people on earth

Today, the house and senate signed the dumbest, most ill conceived, most radical one-sided bill in history of the United States, and Obama, a stooge for the republican party signed it.and Obama signed it. Obama, the senate and the house are the dumbest, greediest, most arrogant people in the world, not just the US. Just check the blogs, the real media, and your next door neighbor, and 98% of the people in the US.

Life as we expected or have known it in the past, is gone and trouble is going to be raging.

ITS TIME TO THROW THE BUMS OUT

I have watched from the sidelines for the last 2 years, only to see our country take a nose-dive into a deep abyss, getting deeper every day. The democrats have no courage or energy to change the direction, and the republicans are looking for ways to increase the speed of descent into the abyss. It is business as usual, the politicians will do anything to keep their jobs on a sinking ship.

Time for term limits for the politicians; all the democrats and republicans do is make sure they stay in office. They have ruined this country and only the people can turn this country around. However, re-electing Obama, Harry Reid, Boehner, McConnell, Barney Frank is not an option. The tea party has caused considerable damage to this country, there must be an opposing political counter-balance to their position. Get rid of the incumbents, all of them and start anew.

Now that they have increased the debt limit without tax increases for the wealthy; then the politicians must cause the pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan wars immediately. No excuses, no exceptions, no delay. The lower and middle classes have provided the man power for the wars as well as the funding; it is time for the wealthy to enlist in the Army and start paying for the cost of the wars.

Obama encouraged the people to vote for him to see change we can believe in. Even with a super majority in the first 2 years, it was business as usual. Its time to change direction and throw all the incumbents out of office. It is hard to recognize the difference between the actions of the democrats and the republicans. They all talk a good argument, but when it comes to delivery, they all explain with equal greatness their failure to do so. When the average citizen does this on the job, they get fired, or they are friends with the boss. Herein lies the problem. The politicians take care of each other so that they can stay at the trough; like millions of feeder cattle. They all line up at the trough to get fed, not knowing that they will soon go the packing plant to be slaughtered and to be sold to those who want the meat the most. The biggest and most aggressive stay at the trough the longest.

Voters are oblivious to what is happening because they are one issue voters; decrease taxes, stop abortion, maintain the sanctity of marriage? Wow; what ability for the ability of the voters to weigh the importance of issues facing all of us. We are heading back to the dark ages, and all we can do is smile because we were able to stop the gay couple next door from enjoying equality in life by getting married.

This narrow mindedness is reminiscent of the neanderthal man who only worried where he was going to find his next meal.

Corrupt Politicians

Why can't the House and Senate develop and implement ethics rules that will prevent the members of these 2 bodies from being so corrupt. For instance, members of committees have huge influence on bills that will significantly improve the lives of their constituents, but perhaps negatively impact the profits of companies or industries, that provide huge contributions for the re-election campaigns of these House and Senate members. A Quid pro Quo- between the health insurance companies impacted by the health care reform bill and contributions to House and Senate members who try to block this reform; especially the Public Option.

How long will the voters of Indiana and Connecticut vote for Bayh and Lieberman who have promised to block the health reform bill despite the fact that a large majority of Indiana and Connecticut voters want the health reform bill and the public option. However, Bayh, his wife is making big bucks from a health care company and he accepts large contributions from the health cre companies; like Lieberman who has accepted millions of dollars for his vote.

When will people get excited enough to do something about the corrupt politicians in the House and Senate.

Obviously, Brooksley Born should be President of the U.S. The Treasury Department, the Senate and House of Representatives have twice in 10 years led this country near the brink of financial disaster. The tax payers had to pick up the tab in 2008. The wealthy arrogant white males seem to be too greedy to think of the Country first and their bank accounts second.

How many times are we going to let people like Greenspan, Sommers, Robert Rubin, Tim Geithner lead us into a financial whirlwind before we learn that we need rules and regulations in our financial system that work.

The wealthy white guys always cry and moan that they pay too much to the IRS; now we know they should pay considerably more income tax just to make up for all the havoc they create in the financial and stock markets.

FiNANCIAL REGULATORY REFORM

Chris Dodd wants a super regulator to regulate banks and other financial institutions. That's like asking a fox to guard the henhouse. He and others in the Senate and the House want the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, a department of the Treasury to regulate banks. It is and will be supervised by the political corrupt. Can you imagine the Bush Administration controlling the Bank Regulators? They would eliminate all banking regulations that did not please the big banks and the big contributors to political campaigns

To have the banking industry, one of the most important industries in our country to help foster business, to have it under the control of politicians is stunningly stupid, and a stunningly simplistic fix for what the House and Senate perpetuated in the first place.

Chris Dodd is supposedly on his way to defeat in the next elections for his blatant lies, lets hope he is gone before he can do more damage to the country. Senator Schummer of NY is an ally on this issue; time for him to go as well.

When lawyers become politicians, and get elected to either the house or senate, then you know that this country is in serious trouble. Economics professors who are bought and paid for by big banks are also problematic.

Grassley, Baucaus, and others in the Senate who owe their elections to the health care industry, are examples of why term limits are necessary to keep this country moving forward and the rich and wealthy from corrupting influence.

How about the politicos who have forgotten how to figure their taxes correctly and laugh it off when caught. If the framers of the tax code can't do it right, how are we, poor common citizens expected to get it right.

Then we have John Murtha, called one of the most corrupt politicians in the House or Senate for a number of years, continues on his merry way. The House and Senate have ethics laws that can't stop the corruption. Why should they, the go into office poor as their constituents and come out as wealthy as those who contribute to their re-election campaigns. And we thought Russia, China, Mexico were run by the corrupt.
